My MkII Cortina V8 Pages

The Beginning

I will briefly give the  history and development of the car and pics throughout the build up. My objective is to have a Mk2 Ford Cortina which will look externally as close as possible to original except wheels and a bit of the engine peeping out of the bonnet.  It will have a Jaguar IRS, Cortina Mk4 IFS, slightly modified Mopar 318cu in - 5.2 litre V8 engine est. 300+bhp,  3"x2" box section chassis, alloy wheels, painted yellow underneath together with suspension, Body to be painted two tone, bottom part yellow and top blue.  This car will be build with new parts only where necessary as a tight budget is all that is available - sob sob. That's about it in a nutshell - will it happen? who knows -  scroll down, enjoy and find out.

My 1969 Plymouth Barracuda.
This is my 1969 Plymouth Barracuda.  This is were the engine and gearbox has come from.  It is a shame, but that's life.

The two pictures above was how the car looked in July 1987 when I drove it back from Fishguard in South Wales. Hand painted with a huge!! 1300cc engine.

The Plymouth Barracuda to the right was the poor car that was going to donate its running gear.
